CAALA is a non-profit organization focused on educating, connecting and assisting attorneys protecting people from unsafe products, unsafe medicine, unfair business practices and unscrupulous, negligent corporate conduct.  They were looking for a new headquarters in DTLA that established a new identity and provided space for various types of services and events they provide.  A key component of the 6,000 sf space was a large multi-purpose room to be used for training, education seminars, member events and social gatherings.  The design focuses around the idea of centralizing the administrative functions within an organic wood wrapped jewel box with punctured openings for reception, a catering counter and a bar while the office functions pushed to the perimeter for access natural light.
