ESLA is an existing vibrant private school located in the heart of Hollywood, California.  We set out as partners to Masterplan a New Middle School with an existing Lower School campus.  The result is a fabulous urban campus through re-use of a series of existing buildings from the 1930s.  The project not only tackles new learning and connected social spaces but also a new street presence.  The project occurred through a series of phases to address structural upgrades, infrastructural improvements, new exterior elevator, and a new commercial kitchen.

The project took shape through a phased construction approach – addressing structural upgrades, infrastructural improvements, a new exterior elevator, and a new commercial kitchen – maintaining a vision of modernized classrooms and flexible outdoor space. Collectively, the revitalize buildings frame and overlook a multi-functional outdoor space that serves activities ranging from sporting events and student drop-off to art shows and graduation ceremonies.
