Milstein Adelman
Century City, CA
Providing a new office for a relocated law firm from Santa Monica to Century City, the project challenged the existing typology. Reflecting a shift from the typical formal attorney office to more of an open creative office, the character of the space is more loft-like and relaxed in atmosphere with exposed ceilings, brick, and concrete floors. A visitor moves from the Reception to either the Parlor on the East or the Study on the West as wood elements provide visual linkage across the floor and connect to the floor’s primary socializing spaces adjacent to exterior decks. The Parlor is animated through both a series of colored light vaults and banquettes as an activated communal space. The Study has a warmer more intimate space for smaller gatherings.
