Portland Creative Office
Portland, OR
Located in a southeastern neighborhood of Portland, the project is a new mixed-use building that reflects the diversity of uses on the boulevard – both urban and rural at the same time. It’s a transitional part of the city that is directly connected to the city center and at the same time, very residential in scale.
The ground floor retail is combined with the second floor live/work spaces for a ‘commercial base’ that the residential units above rest on. The second floor has flexibility to be demised into a number of unit types for local business development. The third floor residential units share a number of connected outdoor spaces with an undulating roof line to allow access to the greatest amount of natural light from above.
The building’s overall character is meant to be knit into an existing city fabric that transitions into a residential neighborhood in the adjacent blocks with a material palette that is both rustic and contemporary.
